A Student Changing Classes

Learn what to do if you need to change classes

If you’re a student who needs to switch to a new class — whether you’ve changed teachers, or need access to a different course, your teacher can help you make that change quickly.

How to Change Classes

Students are not able to move themselves to a new class. Instead, your teacher handles the class transfer on their end.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Tell your current teacher that you need to be moved to a different class
  2. Your teacher will move you to the correct class or connect with your new teacher
  3. Your new teacher may need to confirm the transfer so the change can be completed

Once the transfer is done, you will see your new class and assigned courses the next time you log in.

Why Teacher Confirmation Is Required

Class lists are managed by teachers to keep student information accurate and secure. Having your new teacher verify the change ensures that:

  • You are placed in the correct class
  • Your courses and progress appear in the right Gradebook
  • You don’t lose access to assignments you still need

What Happens to Your Progress

Your course progress stays with your account, not your class, so you won’t lose your work when you move.
If your new class uses different courses, your new teacher will assign them after you join.

If You’re Unsure Who to Contact

If you’re not sure who your new teacher is or can’t reach them:

  • Ask your school office or counselor for guidance
  • Let your current teacher know so they can help coordinate the transfer
