Creating a Class

Learn how to set up a class in your Everfi Teacher Site so students can access their assigned courses

What You’ll Do

Use this process when you’re ready to set up a class and give students access to Everfi courses.  This article walks you through:

  • Creating a new class
  • Selecting and adding courses
  • Understanding how registration codes work
  • Sharing codes or creating student accounts

How to Create a Class

  1. Log in to your K‑12 Teacher Site.
  2. From your Dashboard, choose one of the following:
    • Explore Courses to browse courses not yet added to your Dashboard
    • My Courses to use a course you’ve already added
  3. Click Add to Class on the course you want to use.
  4. Fill out the class form, then select Create Class.

How to Complete the Class Form

Class Name
Choose a name your students will recognize, such as First Period Financial Literacy. You can update the class name anytime.

Start Date
Select the month your students will begin working in the course. You can change this later if needed.

Courses
This section shows the courses assigned to your class.

  • If you selected Add to Class from a specific course page, that course appears automatically.
  • You can add more courses so students receive access through one shared registration code.

Add More Courses
  1. Select Add Courses.
  2. Check the box next to each course you want to include.
  3. Click Save Selection.
  4. Confirm all selected courses appear under Courses.

Helpful reminder:

  • Class = the group of students you’re teaching
  • Course = the curriculum you assign

After You Create Your Class

Once your class is created, you’ll receive a registration code that connects students to your class.

You can choose to:

  • Share the Registration Code directly with students, or
  • Create Student Accounts manually so students log in with a username and password

Sharing Individual Course Codes

If you want students to access only one specific course (instead of all courses in the class), select Show Registration Codes for Individual Courses under Share Registration Codes.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see a course I expected to add.
Make sure the course is available for your grade band and region. Your regional Everfi team or Support can confirm availability.

Students can’t join with the registration code.
Check that the code is the most recent one generated for the class and that students typed it correctly.

A course didn’t appear after I added it.
Refresh your page or return to My Courses to make sure it saved.
