Creating Classes for SSO (Single Sign-On) Teachers

Learn how to create classes utilizing SSO (Clever/ClassLink).

When your school uses SSO, your class rosters come directly from your district’s student information system. This means you won’t manually add students—your sections will appear automatically when you create your classes.

Follow the steps below to set up your SSO‑powered classes.

How to Create Your Class

  1. Log in through your SSO provider
Open Clever or ClassLink and click the Everfi app.

  2. Access your Teacher Dashboard
You’ll land on My Classes. You may see sections already listed, or your dashboard may be empty if you haven’t created classes yet.

  3. Go to Explore Courses
Select the course you want to assign.

  4. Add the course to a class
    Click Add to Class.
    You’ll be asked to either:

    • Add to an existing class, or
    • Create a new class
  5. Select your SSO section
A dropdown menu will appear showing the sections shared with Everfi through SSO.

    • If you don’t see your section, it may already be created or may belong to another teacher.
  6. Enter class details
Fill out the class name and any additional required information.

  7. Create your class
Click Create Class to finalize your setup.

If You See Multiple Sections

Sometimes districts share more than one section with Everfi. After selecting your main section, you may see a list of other sections you can also create as classes.

  • Uncheck any sections you don't want to create
  • Your final class list will appear under My Classes

How to Read the SSO Class IDs

Under each class name, you may see a long identifier pulled in from your SSO system.

  • The number in parentheses is your Section ID
  • This helps you match the class to your SIS (e.g., Clever or ClassLink section numbers

Don't Have Rostered Sections?

If you need students to access a course but don't have rostered sections (common for substitutes, counselors, after school programs, etc.) see: Creating Custom Cohorts.
