Lesson Set Up and Intentional Design

Learn how our lessons are set up within our courses

Our digital lessons are designed to give students an engaging, self‑paced learning experience. Each course blends interactive activities, real‑world scenarios, and opportunities for critical thinking so students stay focused and motivated as they work.

Interactive and Gated Design

Every lesson includes interactive elements—such as clickable hotspots, scenario choices, sliders, animations, and short activities. These elements must be completed before students can move forward.  This intentional “gated” design ensures students fully engage with the content on each page rather than skipping ahead. It also supports deeper understanding by requiring students to interact with key concepts before continuing.

How Lessons Are Structured

Lessons are broken into short, manageable sections. Students work independently on their own devices, moving through the content at a pace that works for them.

Throughout each lesson, students make decisions, reflect on scenarios, and explore content that relates to their everyday lives. These design choices help students make meaningful connections to the material.

Built‑In Pacing

Most lessons are designed to fit within a typical class period, but students can pause and resume at any time. This flexible pacing allows you to incorporate Everfi into a variety of schedules—from quick daily rotations to longer weekly blocks.

Because progress automatically saves, students can return exactly where they left off.

Assessments and the Gradebook

Each course includes both a pre‑assessment and a post‑assessment:

  • The pre‑assessment introduces the topic and captures what students know before starting
  • The post‑assessment measures how their understanding has grown after completing the content

These assessments are automatically graded and feed directly into your Gradebook. Teachers can track classwide and individual progress, identify where students may need additional support, and quickly monitor completion across multiple courses.

Designed for Independent Learning

Our courses are built to support autonomy. Students explore at their own pace while you have full visibility into their progress. The combination of interactive checkpoints, scenario‑based learning, and auto‑graded assessments creates a structured yet flexible environment that supports meaningful learning for all students.
