Teachers can manage what students see by using the lock and unlock toggle for individual courses inside a class.
What the Lock Feature Does
This feature lets you add multiple courses to a class and choose whether each course is visible to students on their dashboard.
- Unlocked courses appear on the student dashboard, and you can view their Gradebook.
- Locked courses are hidden from students, and you will not see a Gradebook for those courses.
If you lock a course that was previously unlocked, students will lose access to it and the Gradebook will temporarily disappear. When you unlock it again, students pick up right where they left off and their progress reappears in the Gradebook.
Where You Can Lock and Unlock Courses
You can use the lock/unlock toggle in several places:
When Creating a Class
You’ll see a toggle next to each course you select to include.
When Adding a Course to an Existing Class
The toggle also appears while selecting additional courses for a class.
Inside Your Class List
A locked course will show a lock icon to the left of the course name.
When Editing a Class
You can update lock settings by selecting Edit Class under the course tile from the My Courses tab.
