Steps to Reset a Password

If a student forgets their password, you can reset it quickly from your teacher dashboard.

  1. Log in to your K-12 Teacher Site.
  2. Click Students in the top menu.
  3. Use filters if needed to find the correct student.
  4. Click Reset Password, create a new password, and share it with the student.

Password Requirements

When creating a new password, keep these rules in mind:

  • Minimum length: 8 characters for students, 12 characters for teachers
  • Must include two or more character types:
    Letter, number, or symbol (such as !, @, #, $, %, &).
  • Passwords cannot include:
    • The word “password” or variations like p@$$w0rd.
    • Company or product names (e.g., Everfi, Homeroom, Foundry).
    • Calendar-related words (month names, seasons, days of the week in English or Spanish).
    • Dates or year-like numbers (e.g., 12312023 or any 4-digit year near the current date).
    • Any piece of personal information (name, email, username, ID).
    • Cannot reuse the last 3 passwords the user has had

Important Notes

  • Students under 13 years old do not have an email address on file and cannot reset their own password. Teachers (or the Support Team) must reset it for them.
  • If a student or teacher enters the wrong password too many times:
    • Teachers: Locked out after 5 failed attempts in 5 minutes (10-minute lockout).
    • Students: Locked out after 10 failed attempts in 5 minutes (10-minute lockout).
    • After 10 minutes, you can try again
