Student Cannot Locate Navigation Button in Course
Learn what to do if a student cannot find the navigation button
If a student feels “stuck” in a lesson or can’t find the Next button, the issue is often caused by screen zoom or browser settings. Try the steps below to help them move forward.
1. Reset the Screen Zoom
If the screen is zoomed in too far, important prompts or navigation buttons can disappear.
- On a PC or Chromebook: press Control + 0 (zero)
- On a Mac: press Command + 0 (zero)
This resets the zoom back to the default level.
2. Switch Browsers
If resetting zoom doesn’t help, try using a different browser. We recommend:
- Chrome
- Firefox
Avoid older or unsupported browsers, as they may not display course elements correctly.
3. Check Your Browser Version
Make sure the browser is up to date. You can check your current browser version here:

4. Clear Your Cache
Clearing the browser cache helps refresh course content and can fix pages that seem stuck or incomplete.
